About this app
Mic Polar illustrates the directionality of all basic microphone types, in an interactive diagram. A linear or logarithmic polar plot shows the microphone's sensitivity for all directions. A linear plot shows the transfer function. Precise levels for certain angles can be found by touching the polar plot. Mic Polar supports omnidirectional and figure of eight, and anything in between. This includes all traditional microphone types such as cardioid and hyper cardioid. It does not include microphone with additional acoustic features, such as shotgun microphones.
