Named after Smt. Sharada Madhava Pai, the wife of Dr. T.M.A. Pai, the man whose extraordinary vision was responsible for the establishment of the international university town of Manipal, Sharada Residential School, Udupi was founded in the year 1988 by the Dr. T.M.A. Pai Foundation, Manipal, which is still doing commendable work befitting the life and achievements of the great man himself. Today, more than 25 years since its inception, Sharada Residential School sticks unflinchingly to its cardinal objective of all round development of every child, through a blend of academic and co-curricular activities with the necessary facilities and infrastructure to ensure that every child gets an opportunity to discover and hone talents. A profound vision The school has a simple yet profound motto — acquisition of knowledge, molding of character and gaining of self-control. Every action, decision and methodology governing the school's functioning is inspired by this motto, which eventually toughens up innocent, inquisitive children to be ablet to encounter the growing challenges of the highly competitive world. Quality Education Sharada Residential School follows the ICSE syllabus (affiliated to CISCE, Delhi and member, IPSC) from class VI to X and Pre-university course (Karnataka State Board). Activities like sports and games, dance, music, karate, swimming etc are conducted to impart all-round education. Personality development programmes are conducted to bring out the innate and leadership qualities of students.
