Multi-touch Fractions helps students explore fractions by touching, dividing, and combining parts of one unit. Students can use two or more fingers to divide a fraction into smaller equal parts. They can also touch two or more fractions with the same denominator to add them. This creates a hands-on way to explore how fractions are divided and combined. The app supports open-ended exploration as well as search tasks. In search tasks, students try to create a given fraction by dividing and adding fractions. They can also set their own fractions to search for. Each fraction has its own color, creating clear and beautiful visual combinations as students explore.
