指掌校园是“数字校园平台软件”从“一个平台，多个模块”的构建理念触发，构建数字校园直通车平台软件应用系统。“一个平台”即一个校园基础信息平台，学校的基础信息、用户信息、用户权限管理、教师岗位安排、学生分班等一切校园基础信息的录入和设置都在这个办公平台上处理，杜绝信息孤岛的出现，防止信息重复录入和信息冲突。“多个模块”即在同一个校务平台上，根据学校的应用需求的不同，从不同角度开发相对独立的应用模块，模块可以增减，模块之间智慧协作，实现校园信息化办公。
