About this app
GeoKeeper is a community-based monitoring app designed to support Indigenous communities conducting fieldwork for environmental monitoring and guardianship programs. GeoKeeper enables users to collect data in the field with configurable site survey forms. GeoKeeper Features: - Records tracks of the route field monitors follow and survey forms collected along the way. - All-In-One Recording Device: uses your device’s built-in camera, GPS, and keyboard to record photos and notes along with mapped locations. - Fully accessible offline: record and save data while working offline in the field and upload to GeoKeeper servers when you return to an area with internet service. - Administrative tools: users can log into the GeoKeeper portal to review and export collected field data as CSV spreadsheets and KML spatial files. - Integrates with Kwusen’s Community KnowledgeKeeper, an online database used by Indigenous communities to analyze land use data and manage consultations. Surveys are customizable and can be created for any purpose. Some of the forms that have been used include: - Preliminary Field Reconnaissance (archaeological) - Water Quality/Quantity - Winter Water Quality - Traditional Land Use - Fisheries - Soil Sampling - Wildlife Sightings - Enforcement Incident - Vehicle Sighting - Navigational Hazards
