The FARO Visual Inspect™ product suite enables large, complex 3D CAD data to be transferred to an iPad and then used for mobile visualization and comparison to real world conditions. Visual Inspect™ enables real time, actionable manufacturing insight through early stage error detection in the production, construction or design processes as well as their documentation. The 3D CAD data is stored locally on the iPad through an innovative, compressed, mobile format which provides an exceptional degree of flexibility and mobility that together drive increased productivity. In order to create this format, the powerful Visual Inspect Translator (see also https://knowledge.faro.com/Software/Factory_Metrology/Visual_Inspect/Software_Download_for_Visual_Inspect_CAD_Translator) is used and is the basis for incredibly fast loading of extremely large data sets. The Visual Inspect CAD Translator supports virtually all data formats, including 3DXML, ACIS, native CATIA, IGES, Inventor, JT 8.x and 9.x, NX, Parasolid, ProE / Creo, Solid Edge, SolidWorks, STEP, STL, VDA-FS, XCGM.
