About this app

"If you breathe, you probably care." Thirteen years ago, air quality information wasn't accessible except in legacy media... then came WashoeAIR to bring these conditions and readings to everyday people in Northern Nevada (and beyond). It's kept its purpose over the last decade+ while improving the at-a-glance understandability for anyone who breathes; from basic colors to text, to individual pollutant readings, there's depth for just about anyone, no degree in Public Health required. Data is sourced from reputable providers (primarily public health organizations when available).

What’s New

Version 3.0.1 Jul 10, 2026

Since 2020, we've known that it was time for a new generation of the apps under the hood. 2013 (the original code release) was a long time ago, and to establish the platform for years to come, v3 has been effectively rewritten using modern techniques and technologies to continue as a base long into the future. Please note that WashoeAIR will continue to be supported. However, we encourage you to move to its sibling, AQeye, as new features and platforms will be introduced there. In 3.0.1: * NEW: VoiceOver support (feedback encouraged) * BUGFIX: fixed a condition where the AQI values stop updating on-screen during long runs In v3.0: * All new infrastructure and codebase * New app and preference settings * New information about the photos you see rotating in the background - see an artist you like? Contact them! * New information about platform supporters and friends of the project
