About this app

Developed by the smem, the Swiss Museum and center for electronic music instruments, Creative Cards is a virtual card game inspired by the Oblique Strategies conceived by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt and first published in 1975. Both games consist of short ideas presented in the form of aphorisms. These ideas, browsed or picked at random can be used, alone or in combination, to inspire creative solutions, particularly in the musical domain. How to use it: - Tap or swipe to walk the deck - Shake the device or tap shuffle for a random card - Tap the info button on artist cards to read about the artist and visit their work - Star cards to save them - Add the Lock Screen or Home Screen widget for a fresh prompt every hour Have a prompt to add? Submit it from inside the app! Creative Cards is an SMEM initiative supported by the Canton of Fribourg. SMEM — the Swiss Museum and center for Electronic Music instruments — is based at blueFactory in Fribourg, Switzerland, and is home to one of the world's largest synthesizer collections.
