About this app

Chinny is an on-device voice cloning app for iOS and macOS, powered by a SoTA AI voice-cloning model (Chatterbox). It runs fully offline with no information leaving your device. No ads. No hidden fees. No usage restrictions. Use it to have a familiar voice read bedtime stories, record personal audiobooks, add voiceovers for videos, generate podcast narration, create game or film temp lines, or provide accessible read-aloud for long articles—all privately on your device. What you can do: • Clone voices and generate natural speech entirely offline • Unlimited text input (long scripts are chunked and exported as a single audio file) • Local inference tuned for Apple silicon and modern iPhones (requires at least 3.5 GB of free RAM) • Simple audio export Disclaimer: The included preset voice samples are for demonstrating the app’s capabilities only. Do not export, publish, commercialize, or use them to impersonate any person. Create and use your own authorized voices. Private by design: • All models bundled in the app (~3.41 GB) • Works without network connectivity • No accounts, analytics, trackers, or ads • No information leaves your device Current language support: • English (initial focus). Multilingual quality in the base model is limited; selected languages are planned. Responsible use (please read) Chinny is a tool for creators, educators, and researchers. Always obtain consent before cloning or sharing any real person’s voice, and never use generated audio to impersonate, deceive, or defraud. If you operate in regions covered by privacy laws (for example, GDPR), note that voice can be biometric data and may require explicit, informed consent, with rights to withdraw consent and request deletion. Consult your local laws and policies. Apps on the App Store must also respect intellectual property and impersonation rules; do not clone voices you don’t have rights to use.
