About this app
Murmur is the private, on-device voice-note app for iPhone. Open it, tap record, and watch your words turn into clean, searchable text in seconds — without a single byte ever leaving your phone. No account. No cloud. No subscription gate on the core experience. WHY MURMUR IS DIFFERENT • 100% on-device. Every transcription runs locally using Apple's Neural Engine. Murmur works in airplane mode. • Nothing leaves your phone. No telemetry, no analytics, no accounts. We physically cannot read your notes. • Instant capture. The recorder launches in under a second and is ready before you finish the thought. • Lock Screen + Dynamic Island. Watch the elapsed time while you record, and transcription progress while you wait — right from the Lock Screen. • 99 languages. English ships with the app. Download a single multilingual pack once and transcribe in Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Hindi, Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, Korean — 99 in total. • Audio kept. Optionally save the original recording alongside the transcript so you can replay or re-transcribe it later. • Dark mode, light mode, and Incognito Mode for discreet recording. • Export anywhere. Share as plain text, Markdown, SubRip subtitles (.srt), or the raw audio file — works with any app that accepts files. HOW IT WORKS 1. Tap the big record button. 2. Speak naturally. See the waveform respond to your voice. 3. Tap stop. Your transcript appears in seconds. 4. Edit, share, or export it however you like. FREE TIER 30 minutes of transcription every month, forever. No account required. PREMIUM Unlock unlimited transcription minutes, long-form recordings over 10 minutes, file imports for audio you already have, and premium export formats. Available as: • Monthly: $4.99 • Yearly: $29.99 (save 50%) • Lifetime: $79.99 (pay once, yours forever) Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel anytime from Settings › Your Apple ID › Subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at purchase confirmation. Lifetime is a one-time purchase — no renewals, ever. PRIVACY Murmur is the rare voice app that can honestly say "we can't see your notes." Transcription runs on the Neural Engine on your device. No audio file, no transcript, no recording metadata is ever uploaded. The only network request the app ever makes is a one-time download of the multilingual language pack from Hugging Face if you choose to transcribe a non-English language.
