About this app
Quitala is a background removal utility engineered exclusively as a Safari extension for macOS. It strips backgrounds from web images instantly without transmitting data to external servers. Unlike cloud-based tools that require uploading your files to a third-party infrastructure, Quitala executes advanced image segmentation models natively on your Mac. By leveraging WebGPU and local Apple Silicon hardware acceleration, all processing occurs entirely within your browser session. Core Features: - Instant Subject Extraction: Hover over any web image or use the secondary click context menu to isolate the foreground subject. - Full-Resolution Preservation: Quitala processes the alpha-mask separately, ensuring the original image's dimensions, edge textures, and sharpness remain completely unaltered. - 100% Private and Offline: No images, metrics, or telemetry are ever uploaded. Once the local model parameters are cached during initial setup, the extension functions without an active internet connection. - Workflow Integration: Copy isolated subjects directly to your system clipboard or drag them straight into Figma, Canva, or Keynote as transparent PNG assets. - Designed for designers, developers, and researchers who require production-speed asset creation without compromising data privacy.
