About this app
Soloist Handpan is a scale-aware handpan learning app for players with a real tuned steel pan and for anyone who wants to understand the instrument's physical layout. Pick the scale carved into your pan, then practice on a radial Ding-and-tone-field map that matches the selected layout. The course starts with clean hand technique and moves through alternating hands, ghost notes, slaps, gu bass touch, groove drills, and public-domain pieces arranged as field-only strike charts. The app is not a generic soundboard or chord trainer. Handpan notation here is the field diagram plus a strike sequence, because a handpan has one tuned scale in steel: a central Ding and rim tone fields. Pro unlocks the full course, all scale tracks, groove coaching, and repertoire. Audio and practice data stay on device. Microphone access is used for local calibration, timing feedback, and practice recording.
