About this app

Trāce is a map of everywhere you've been, and it's free. No subscription, no ads, no account. Mark the countries you've visited, lived in, passed through, or want to see next. Trāce fills them in on a clean world map and keeps the count for you: how many countries, how many continents, and what share of the world you've covered. When you want to show it off, Trāce turns your map into a share image that actually looks good. It does the places that aren't their own country too. Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, Greenland, Guam, Aruba, and around 40 more territories and islands, each with its own count so your country total stays honest. All 50 US states and Washington DC get their own map and stats. Everything stays on your phone. There's no account to make, no sign-up, no ads, and no subscription. Trāce works offline, so you can add places on a plane or anywhere with no signal. WHAT YOU CAN DO - Tap any country to set its status: Visited, Lived, Booked, Want to visit, or Transited - Add 44 territories and islands, counted separately from countries - Track all 50 US states and Washington DC on their own map - Browse your places by continent, with progress for each one - Watch your numbers update: countries, continents, and percent of the world - Share a map image in your choice of six color themes, to Instagram, Messages, or anywhere - Keep your map in sync across your devices through your own iCloud - Switch between light and dark map styles WHAT IT COSTS Nothing. Other travel maps charge for US states, for regions, or for a subscription. Trāce gives you all of it free, with no ads and no in-app purchases. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your travel history lives on your device, not on our servers. There's no account to create and nothing to sign up for. We don't run ads and we don't sell your data. Trāce is the free flagship of the Āpex Suite from HYTimes App Studio. Start with the first country you remember. The map does the rest.

What’s New

Version 1.1.0 Aug 9, 2026

Territories and islands finally count. You can now add about 44 places that aren't their own country, plus Washington DC. Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, Macau, Greenland, Guam, Aruba, the US and British Virgin Islands, French Polynesia, the Cayman Islands and more. They get their own count, so your country total stays honest. ALSO NEW Your map is on all your devices. Your countries and states now sync through your own iCloud, so a new phone or a reinstall comes back with your map already filled in. Nothing goes to a server of ours. Opens right on your map. Trāce starts on the world map now, and on iOS 26 the tab bar is real Liquid Glass. Places, grouped by continent. Each continent collapses and shows your progress, like Europe 18 of 44. Territories get their own group at the bottom. Better share cards. Your map is bigger, the layout is cleaner, and the install link sits up front so friends can actually find the app. A card worth posting from your first country. With only a few places marked, your card reads "3 and counting" instead of a percentage that makes a real trip look small. Works with Anticipāt. If you use it too, an upcoming trip there can suggest marking that country Booked here, and Visited once you're back. You always confirm, and it all happens on your device. Plus a clearer first run that spells out tap for Visited and press and hold for Lived, a tidier map key, and a smoother share and save flow.
