About this app
Mettle is a free walking game where your steps are the weapon. Invite your friends to create a party of heroes that encounter monsters. Every real-world step you take deals damage, and defeating monsters earns you coins. Exchange coins to recruit fun heroes, like mage, swordsman, archer, and bard. Level up your heroes by walking to deal more damage per step. How it works: - Select your starting hero to level up. When you walk in real life, you deal damage to monsters. - Create a party and battle side by side with your friends anywhere. - Deal with fun monster encounters. One minor monster every day, and a super boss every Sunday. - Steps sync from Apple Health and strike the monster automatically, even while the app is closed. - Collect a roster of heroes across 16+ lines, feed them XP from your walking, and evolve them into rarer forms. - Climb the leaderboard with daily and weekly fun competition that rewards the biggest walker. - Earn and spend coins and embers to recruit heroes and buy potions: an economy fed entirely by walking. - No ads. Just you, your friends, and lots of walking! Note from the creator: Hey, I’m Daniel, and I built Mettle to motivate my family and friends to walk more and stay active. The first week of testing was a complete success. Everyone was hooked and genuinely making an effort to walk more to defeat the monsters together, level up their heroes, and climb the leaderboard. I designed and built Mettle entirely on my own. My goal now is to share it with any group that wants to stay active together. Happy walking!

What’s New
Evolving your hero now responds the moment you tap, and your step count is fairer to everyone walking for it. - Tap Evolve! and the button confirms right away while your hero transforms. - Only steps your iPhone or Apple Watch actually recorded count toward damage, XP and the leaderboard. Take a walk, evolve a hero mid-day, and check that your damage and leaderboard position match the steps you really walked.
