About this app

“What should I buy at this station?” — o-miya-ge answers that, for trips and business travel across Japan. Browse ~12,000 souvenirs from Japan's major train stations and airports. Prices, shelf life, origins, awards and allergens are listed **only when a source confirms them**, each with a link to the official site (fields we could not confirm are left blank). ■ Search in plain words Type something natural like “a long-lasting wagashi under ¥3,000 for a friend,” and the on-device AI reads your intent and narrows it down. No network, no login. ■ Or pick an occasion For sharing, formal gift, travels well, pairs with alcohol, for yourself, conversation starter, kid-friendly — plus what is in season right now. One tap gives you a list, and **each card says in one line why it is there** (individually wrapped, no refrigeration, keeps 90 days, award-winning…). When nothing matches every condition you never get zero results — the closest ones come first. ■ Browse the station map Stations and airports appear on one map, each pin showing how many souvenirs you can buy there. Filter by place or shop name. ■ Five languages Japanese, English, Simplified & Traditional Chinese, and Korean — with the original product name shown, so you can point to it at the counter. ■ Your own notes Save items as Wishlist / Bought / Passed with a quick note, and look back through your history. Everything stays on your device only. ■ Privacy No account. AI runs on-device and your search text never leaves it. No usage analytics. Free. No ads. The data lives on your device, so search works in airplane mode — only product photos need a connection.

What’s New

Version 1.6 Sep 2, 2026

We rebuilt how you find things. ・Occasion buttons: For sharing, Formal gift, Travels well, Pairs with alcohol, For yourself, Conversation starter, Kid-friendly — plus what is in season right now (chestnut, sweet potato and grape for the September edition). One tap gives you a list. ・Every card now says **why it is there**, in one line (individually wrapped, no refrigeration, keeps 90 days, award-winning…). ・Searches used to return nothing when no item met every condition. Now the closest matches come first — the guided questions work the same way. ・Typing a name in kana, katakana or half-width all give the same results. ・Product pages now show “Similar in taste & style”. ・Fixed a keyboard that could not be dismissed in the search field (scroll the list or tap Done). Updated to the September 2026 edition (11,994 items). We corrected the errors we found — including 10 items whose listed price turned out to be a hometown-tax donation amount rather than a retail price (see Settings → About the data).
