About this app
dian puts vocabulary where you already look. Add the widget to your home screen or lock screen, and a new word appears — with its meaning, and its translation in up to three languages of your choosing, side by side. No app to open. No lesson to finish. Just a word, glanced at between other things. Ten languages are available: Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, French, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Filipino, and Burmese. Pick up to three at once — see how the same idea sits differently across scripts and sounds. dian doesn't gamify. No streaks, no quizzes, no notifications nagging you back. It's a companion for people who already read, who are already curious, and who'd rather let a language arrive quietly than chase it with an app. Every word includes a definition, an example sentence, and audio in every language shown — tap once to hear it said properly. Dark mode is done properly too, not just inverted. The starter tier is free: one foreign language, common-tier vocabulary, every theme and every translation feature included. Upgrading unlocks up to three languages at once, the full difficulty range, from common words to genuinely rare ones, and full audio for foreign examples.
