About this app
Knabberfuchs is a calorie tracker that respects you: no ads, no subscriptions, no popups, no account. Just a fast, honest tool for logging what you eat — and your data stays on your phone. Built because every popular tracker nags with paywalls. This one doesn't, and it never will. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Scan barcodes — instant nutrition from Open Food Facts. Not in the database? Add it yourself by scanning the label, and it's saved for next time. • Search fast, offline — Open Food Facts plus the curated Swiss Food Composition Database, with your own custom foods alongside. • Quick add — already know the number? Log "Lasagna · 816 kcal" in a couple of taps. • Snap a meal — AI meal recognition estimates the dish and portion. It runs on-device by default (no account, no cloud). Optionally add your own Google Gemini key for sharper results with full macros. • Meal from a photo — photograph a printed ingredient list and on-device text recognition turns it into a meal to log. • Recipes — build a recipe once, then log a portion to any day; it's broken back into its real ingredients. Share by QR code or image, import by QR or text. • Day by day — meals group automatically as you add them, with a running total and macros. • Per-weekday targets — set a minimum, a maximum, or both. Training days can differ from rest days. • Offline, worldwide — download any of 106 country databases and search with no connection. • Apple Health — optional, write-only sync of your calories and macros. • Backup & restore — export everything to a ZIP (JSON + CSV) and restore it any time. No cloud, no lock-in. MULTILINGUAL Available in English, German, French and Italian. PRIVACY BY DESIGN There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no trackers. We don't run a server and we never see your data. The only thing that ever leaves your phone is an optional Gemini meal photo — and only if you set up your own key. Everything else is on-device. Food data: Open Food Facts (ODbL) and the Swiss Food Composition Database (FSVO). On-device meal recognition uses the Google AIY food model, bundled and run locally. Made in Switzerland.
