Some people learn by schedule. Others only lock in once the deadline gets real. Lingo Cram is built for the second kind. Tell it what is about to happen — a dentist visit, an interview, a trip, a date — and it puts together the phrases you actually need and someone to practice them on. Not chapter one. The next sentence you have to say out loud. DESCRIBE IT, GET A WORD PACK "Asking a drugstore clerk if this works for sensitive skin." "Explaining my last job in an interview on Thursday." Describe your situation in one line, in your own language, and AI instantly builds a pack made for it: readings, politeness level, when to use each phrase, examples. JAPANESE, MANDARIN, ENGLISH — EACH ITS OWN Every pack remembers which language it's for. Expanding it, chatting in it, hearing it read aloud — all stay in that language, so switching languages never scrambles an older pack. Kana for Japanese, pinyin for Mandarin, nothing for English — whatever that language actually uses. TALK TO SOMEONE, NOT A TEXTBOOK Every scenario comes with an AI character: the drugstore clerk, the clinic receptionist, the interviewer. Use what you just learned. Get it wrong and the coach quietly fixes it; switch to your own language and the coach turns it into the target language. SPEAK IT, DON'T JUST STARE AT IT Voice input follows the language of the pack you're in — talk and it becomes text. Tap any line to hear it read aloud, at whatever speed suits you. PRACTICE WHAT YOU NEED NEXT Hide the target language and keep the meaning, or the other way round. Tap to reveal. Words you've got sink to the bottom. Clear a whole pack and a little monk shows up to celebrate. WHY "CRAM" There's a Chinese saying — 临时抱佛脚, "hugging the Buddha's feet at the last minute": asking for help only once you're out of time. Not a plan anyone would recommend. A surprisingly good way to learn. We won't pretend you'll keep a daily streak. Starting late isn't the same as being too late. Voice input, translation, and read-aloud are free too. Premium removes those limits and unlocks expanding a pack by 10 entries at once, more voices, and auto-expanded translation. Momentum comes from crawler snapshots for the tracked storefront. “Viral growth signal” means unusually fast recent rating gains; it is an indicator, not download data.
