About this app

Dutch splits shared expenses — a dinner, a trip, a flat — and works out who owes whom. No accounts. No servers. No sign-up. EVERYONE'S IN, IN ABOUT A MINUTE You're at the table, the bill has arrived, and nobody wants to make an account before the coffee gets cold. So Dutch doesn't have accounts. Show your group's QR code, everyone scans it, and they're in — with the full app. Every group also gets a short word sequence like green-moon-tea, so two people can check they've landed in the same place. WHO OWES WHOM, SOLVED Dutch doesn't just keep a running total. It works out the shortest list of payments that squares everybody up, so six people settling a two-week trip make a handful of transfers instead of a dozen. Mark one paid and the balances clear. BUILT FOR REAL TRIPS • Split a bill evenly, leave someone out, or give one person a double share • Every leftover cent is distributed, never dropped — the totals always reconcile • Paid in another currency? Enter the rate you actually got. Dutch converts once, at that rate, so balances never drift afterwards • Add an expense and it appears on everybody's phone WITHOUT OPENING THE APP • Ask Siri to add an expense, or what you owe in a group • Long-press the icon to log an expense in the group you were last in • Find any group straight from Spotlight SMALL, AND ENTIRELY YOURS Under 2 MB, and there is no backend. No server holds your expenses, there is no account to create, and there is no analytics of any kind. Your groups live in your own iCloud, and sharing one uses Apple's own CloudKit sharing — the same mechanism as a shared photo album. That isn't a policy that could change next quarter. There is nowhere for the data to go, because the infrastructure to collect it was never built. Dutch contains no third-party code at all: no ads, no trackers, no analytics SDK, no crash reporter. It's built with Apple's frameworks only, and the entire source is published under the Mozilla Public License, so you don't have to take any of this on trust. FREE, AND PAID Every feature works on the free tier — no ads, no trial, nothing withheld. The one limit is that you can create one group at a time. Groups you join never count toward that. Scanning a friend's code is always free, however often you do it, because the worst possible moment to ask someone for money is while five people wait for them at a restaurant table. Dutch Unlimited is a one-time purchase that lifts the limit for good. Not a subscription, and it's shared with your Family Sharing group.
