About this app
Eating with gallstones — or after gallbladder surgery — comes down to one question, several times a day: how much fat is in this? Gallbladder Diet answers it in a couple of seconds. Search a food, photograph your plate, or point the camera at a restaurant menu, and you get an estimated fat figure and a plain reading: Safe, Limit or Avoid. SCAN A MEAL Photograph what is on your plate, or a menu page, and get an estimate of fat per item. Every estimate is marked as an estimate, never as a measurement. TRACK A DAILY FAT TARGET Set a target in grams and watch it fill through the day. 40g is a common starting point — your doctor or dietitian may set a different figure, and theirs takes precedence. FIND YOUR OWN TRIGGERS Log an attack with the time and how bad it was. The app looks back at what you ate in the hours before and shows which foods keep turning up. Triggers are personal, so this shows yours rather than a generic list. FOLLOW A RECOVERY TIMELINE After surgery, week-by-week ranges drawn from general published guidance on recovery after cholecystectomy, alongside a digestion log for the weeks when things are still settling. BRING SOMETHING TO YOUR APPOINTMENT The Doctor Report puts the last 30 days on one page — daily fat, attacks, symptoms, the patterns the app noticed — as a PDF you can export. WHAT THIS APP IS NOT It is educational. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Fat figures are estimates: recipes, portions and cooking methods vary enormously, and a photograph cannot show how something was prepared. Where the app and your surgeon disagree, your surgeon is right. If you have pain lasting several hours, fever or chills, persistent vomiting, or yellowing of the skin or eyes, seek medical care rather than logging it. Every figure and recommendation in the app is cited. A Sources screen lists the public health sources behind them — NIDDK, NHS, MedlinePlus, USDA FoodData Central and NICE — with a link to each original, and it is reachable from any screen that gives guidance. FREE AND PREMIUM Search, your daily fat target and the starter meals are free. No time limit, and no trial that quietly turns into a charge. Premium adds unlimited meal scans, your full trigger profile, every recovery week, and the exportable Doctor Report. It is a subscription you can cancel any time in your Apple ID settings. PRIVACY Your meals, attacks and symptoms stay on this device. Food you search for and photos you scan are sent to our food service to be estimated — nothing else is. No advertising, no analytics trackers, and nothing is ever sold. Educational use only — not medical advice. SUBSCRIPTION DETAILS Premium is offered as a monthly subscription at $14.99 or a yearly subscription at $49.99 (USD; prices vary by region). Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
