About this app
Zynthio EPOS is the touchscreen till for hospitality venues — restaurants, bars, cafes. Every sale lands in the Zynthio back office you already use — rota, stock, HR clock-in and reporting share the same data, no import step. Works on tablets and phones; activates per terminal. Order Taking & POS Ring sales from a colour-coded menu with modifiers ("no salad"), portions, and allergies flagged in red. Courses group automatically — starters, mains, drinks — kitchen holds or fires each. Split bills by cover or item; reopen for a missed round. Stock Integration Every item carries its own inventory; selling wine by the 175ml glass takes exactly 175ml off a bottle — no whole-bottle waste. Measures are set once, priced per venue and service, feeding the stock dashboard live. Payments Take cash — drawer opens, records the amount, with over/short alerts at close. Record external card-machine payments as "Card (external)" so cashup reconciles. Connectors for Stripe, Dojo and SumUp are built, with integrated chip-and-PIN rolling out. Service charges and tips route through tronc or payroll. Kitchen & Pass Tickets Tickets print over LAN to Epson and Star printers, plus an ESC/POS print agent, split by course and station — pass, hot kitchen, bar — with seat number, allergies in red, and customisations. KDS mirrors tickets for hold/fire control. Cash Drawer & Closing Start with a float. Run X-reads to check cash and card without closing the drawer; close with a Z-read, flagging any mismatch. Back-office reports show takings by payment method, discounts, voids and refunds, audited by PIN. Offers & Discounts Apply time-limited offers, percentage discounts, or fixed-price meals, with VAT calculated and tracked by PIN and category. The back office tracks discount impact on GP and can push regional offers to venues. Operator PIN Login & Staff Features Staff clock in with a four-digit PIN — no separate timeclock app — and shift time logs in Zynthio HR. Access level decides what you can do: staff ring and own tables; site managers approve voids, refunds and discounts; org admins manage settings and the menu. Floor Plans & Table Management The till shows tables colour-coded by status — free, seated, mains away, bill dropped — with time elapsed per party. Join or move tables mid-service, or seat a walk-in. Side panel: tables open, average cover time, orders needing attention. Self-Order Kiosk Mode A terminal can switch to self-service mode: customers tap their order and pay by card reader — no PIN, no staff interaction. Useful for collection points and busy peaks. Wireless Order Taking Handhelds let staff take orders tableside on a phone or tablet and send them to the kitchen from anywhere — one-column layout for one-handed use. Reports View live sales by hour, category, payment method and staff member, exporting PDF reports. Every transaction is timestamped and linked to a PIN, so stock, cash and labour reconcile at day's end. End-of-Day Back Office Zynthio shows all-day summaries: cover count, average spend, sales by category and server, discounts, refunds, payment split and cash variance. Managers reconcile and close the day. Offline Resilience The till syncs every few seconds but keeps selling if the internet drops — orders queue and print locally, then sync when it returns. No lost tickets, no duplicate orders, no confusion at close. Multi-Venue A single login works across multiple sites if your account has access. Each till is bound to one site by its activation code, but staff can use PINs across venues if the org admin allows it. Zynthio EPOS is a B2B till, not a consumer app — your business has a Zynthio EPOS subscription. Activation is handled by your org admin from the back office: no sign-up in the app, no in-app purchases. Card payments are for the food and drink you sell, not subject to in-app purchase rules.
