Lunar Gardening Calendar

About this app

Every January you buy the same fold-out moon calendar, and by May it's dog-eared, coffee-stained and buried under a pile of seed packets. Moon Garden gives you those same sowing days — Root, Leaf, Flower and Fruit — worked out fresh for any date you ask, on the phone already in your pocket. You know the rhythm. Sow carrots while the moon runs through an earth constellation, cut lettuce on a leaf day, leave the beds alone when the moon crosses a node. But a printed calendar is a column of tiny symbols. It never tells you what time today stops being a Root day, it has no idea you garden south of the equator, and it expires. So you guess, or skip it, or sow on Sunday because that's when you had time. Moon Garden takes that off your shoulders. OPEN IT AND TODAY IS ALREADY ANSWERED • Today's day type — Root, Leaf, Flower or Fruit — with the tradition's own advice for it • The moon's constellation, its phase, and how much of it is lit • Waxing or waning, ascending or descending: both rhythms the old calendars track • Split days named to the minute: "Root until 14:20, then Flower" • Rest days flagged before you waste an afternoon — nodes, eclipses, the pauses tradition keeps WIND THE DIAL • Turn the zodiac ring with your thumb and the days roll past at the moon's real speed • Today and the next three days, free, forever • Pro opens the whole season as an almanac month grid, split days drawn as split cells YOUR GARDEN, YOUR CROPS • 49 vegetables, herbs and flowers, each classed the way the tradition classes it • Every crop's year at a glance: start indoors, sow outside, plant out, harvest • Frost-hardy crops marked, so you know what tolerates an early bed • Pro finds the next moon-matched dates for each crop you grow ON YOUR HOME SCREEN AND LOCK SCREEN • Widgets with today's day type, the moon, and one thing worth doing • Lock Screen complications: circular, rectangular and inline BUILT THE WAY AN ALMANAC SHOULD BE • Northern or southern hemisphere — the seasons flip and the calendar follows • Choose the real constellations, as printed biodynamic calendars use, or equal signs • 39 languages, each in its own tradition's words BUILT FOR REAL LIFE • Community-garden veterans who have planted by the moon for thirty years • Anyone handed a biodynamic calendar who could never decode the symbols • Balcony growers with six pots and one hopeful tomato • Southern-hemisphere gardeners tired of calendars written for the north • Market gardeners laying out a season of sowings in one sitting PRIVATE BY DEFAULT • No account, no sign-up, no email address • Every day is computed on your device from published astronomical formulae • Works in airplane mode, in a greenhouse, at the back of the yard • No tracking, no ads, nothing sold to anyone Moon Garden presents the planting-by-the-moon tradition as the tradition itself teaches it, and makes no scientific yield claims. Momentum comes from crawler snapshots for the tracked storefront. “Viral growth signal” means unusually fast recent rating gains; it is an indicator, not download data.
