About this app
Overlay traditional direction lines on a real map. Set a reference point — your home, workplace, or anywhere you choose — and Achikochi draws the compass sectors radiating out from it, so you can see at a glance which direction any destination falls in. FOUR DIVISION SYSTEMS • 24 Mountains — 15° per sector, the standard luopan ring • Eight Directions — 45° per sector • 30°/60° alternating — the Japanese kigaku layout • Twelve Directions — 30° per sector MAGNETIC DECLINATION Direction systems are measured from true north, but a magnetic compass points to magnetic north, and the gap between them changes with where you are. Achikochi corrects for it. Inside Japan the declination is calculated for you; anywhere else you can enter your local value by hand. MULTIPLE REFERENCE POINTS Save as many points as you like — home, work, a family address — and switch between them at any time. SEARCH Find a place by address or name and jump straight to it on the map. Available in English and Japanese.
