About this app

Moving to a new phone? Take every contact with you — no cable, no cloud, no account, no setup. vMerge transfers your address book from one phone to any other device — another phone, a desktop, a laptop, any platform. The whole thing happens over your local Wi-Fi or a personal hotspot. Nothing leaves the room. • One tap to send, one scan to receive Pick the contacts, tap Export, and vMerge shows a QR code. Point the other device's camera. The transfer starts the moment the scan is read — no Bluetooth pairing, no platform restrictions, no "same-brand-only" wall. • Lossless, full vCard format Every name, number, email, address, photo, birthday, job title, and custom field travels intact. We use the standard vCard 4.0 format (.vcf) — the same format your contacts already speak. Nothing gets re-encoded, downscaled, or stripped. • Built-in deduplication Importing into a phone that already has some of these contacts? vMerge spots duplicates and merges them by phone-number normalization, not by name. Two entries with the same number under different spellings ("John Smith" vs "Smith, John") collapse into one — the union of all their fields wins, nothing is lost. • Works without internet The transfer runs over your local network — even if your router is offline, even if you're on a plane. As a fallback, Personal Hotspot turns your phone into its own tiny network for the receiver to join. • Browser receiver fallback The receiving device doesn't even need vMerge installed. Scan the QR with the system camera and a browser tab opens with your contacts ready to download — works on any device, any operating system. • Private by design Your contacts never touch our servers — because we don't have any. No accounts to create. No cloud bill to pay. No data we could leak, because we never see your data. Everything stays on your device. Verify it yourself: turn on Airplane Mode, vMerge still works on the local network. WHO IT'S FOR • Anyone switching phones who wants their address book to come along • Photographers, journalists, sales teams, and freelancers sharing a contact list with a colleague without exchanging emails • IT admins setting up a new device • Anyone who's ever lost a contact because they trusted a cloud sync • Anyone tired of cables, dongles, and brand walls HOW IT WORKS 1. Open vMerge on the sending device. Pick Export. 2. Pick which contacts to send (or send all of them). 3. A QR code appears on the screen. 4. On the receiving device, point its camera at the QR — or open vMerge there and tap Scan. 5. The transfer starts immediately. A 50,000-entry address book takes seconds. WHAT YOU GET • One-tap Export of any selection of contacts • One-tap Import on the receiving side • Real-time progress with byte-level granularity • Merge-aware Import — choose Add or Update on conflict • Full vCard 4.0 support — every field travels • QR pairing for first connection • Personal Hotspot fallback for no-Wi-Fi scenarios • Browser receiver — no install required on the other end PRIVACY vMerge is offline by design. It does not include analytics, advertising SDKs, or any kind of telemetry. Your data never leaves your device. We have no servers, no accounts, no logs. vMerge is a Drish Labs app. We make focused, offline, privacy-first utilities for people who got tired of every app wanting a login.
