About this app

Workshop companion for makers who build totes, backpacks, crossbody bags, wallets, belts, pouches, laptop sleeves and duffles from vegetable-tanned leather or heavy canvas. It replaces the graph paper, chalk marks on offcuts and scattered phone photos with one place for patterns, cut plans, bench time and finished work. WORKSHOP • See your active project, the next uncompleted step and a progress ring at a glance • Start the bench timer before you pick up the awl and log minutes against a specific step • A weekly strip shows minutes logged each day and how the week compares to the last • Pattern of the Day with a maker tip, plus low-stock warnings from your material inventory PROJECTS AND STEPS • Start from a pattern in the shared catalogue or build a project from scratch • Standard eleven-step template: draft, transfer, cut, skive, punch, glue, stitch, hardware, edges, condition, inspect • Reorder, rename or add steps; tick them off as you work and see minutes per step • Panel lists with dimensions, quantity and material role; hardware lists with quantity and finish • Cost panel combining panel area, hide price per unit, hardware and thread, with a per-hour value line • Import your own photos, keep free-text notes, and export a one-page project sheet as PDF • Capture rough ideas as lightweight entries and promote them to full projects later CUT PLAN AND MATERIAL CALCULATOR • Shelf-packing layout canvas showing how your panels sit on a specific hide or bolt • Utilisation percentage, waste area, panels placed and a clear "does not fit" tray • Grain-direction toggle: keep orientation or let the packer rotate panels for better yield • Adjustable waste allowance from 0 to 25 percent, with costs recomputed instantly • Run a scratch plan without a project and save it as one when you commit PATTERN LIBRARY • Catalogue of bag patterns across eight categories, both materials and five difficulty levels • Filter by category, material, difficulty, estimated hours or bookmarks; sort by newest, easiest, fewest panels or most built • Each pattern lists panels, hardware, step outline, finished dimensions and estimated hours • Material estimate finds the cheapest item in your inventory that can hold the layout THE BENCH • A shared showcase of finished work with photos, materials, hours and applause • Monthly leaderboard built from logged bench hours and completed projects • Post directly from a finished project with title, category, hours and photo prefilled MAKER PROFILE AND INVENTORY • Track hides, fabric bolts, thread and hardware with quantity, price per unit and reorder thresholds • Stats for projects finished, bench hours, panels cut and material consumed • Craft badges earned locally as your hours and finishes add up • Preferences for units, leather thickness in ounces or millimetres, currency and default waste allowance • Weekly bench reminder as a local notification • Export projects, panels, hardware, sessions and inventory as CSV WORKS WITHOUT A SIGNAL Projects, panels, cut plans, step ticks, timers, inventory and your own photos are stored on the device and work with no network at all. The pattern catalogue and Bench feed render instantly from a saved copy with a clear offline note. Posts, applause and session totals queue up and upload later, and each carries a unique key so a retry can never double-count.
