About this app
Most people are very familiar with Western classical music from roughly 1650 to 1900, or ‘tonal’ music. This app is intended to give you a glimpse into the rich repertoire of Western music written before the 17th century, or ‘modal’ music, so that you may better appreciate and enjoy this repertoire. Although there is some text to guide you through it, the app is intended primarily to heighten your enjoyment of this music, more so than to formally study it. We hope you can learn to enjoy it as much as the authors do.
