About this app

Earshot is a podcast player built accessibility-first. Every screen, button, and gesture works fully with VoiceOver, so blind and low-vision listeners get the same fast, complete experience as everyone else. Listen your way: - Follow any podcast by search, RSS feed URL, or OPML import - Keep your library, folders, queue, playback position, bookmarks, listening history, and shared settings synchronized through your private iCloud account - A Smart Inbox that gathers new episodes from the shows you choose - Queue with reordering, folder or podcast grouping, and auto-advance - Per-podcast playback speed that remembers your preference - Chapters, sleep timer, bookmarks, transcripts, and listening statistics - Automatic downloads for queued episodes and optional cleanup after listening - Adjustable skip-forward and skip-back intervals Organize a big library: - Nested folders for podcasts and individual episodes - Folder views for new episodes, downloads, queues, and listening statistics - Multi-select and batch actions - Import and export subscriptions and folder structure with OPML - Fast, responsive handling of large podcast collections Built for VoiceOver from day one: - Configurable Quick Actions in the VoiceOver Actions rotor - Clear, consistent labels on every control - Full Dynamic Type support and respect for system settings - Quiet, accessible iCloud and refresh status Earshot is free for up to 10 podcast subscriptions. Earshot Plus removes the cap for unlimited subscriptions: $2.99/month, $19.99/year, or $49.99 once for lifetime access. An optional in-app tip jar is available if you would like to support development. No ads or third-party trackers, ever. Your synchronized library is stored in your private iCloud database. Payown Media cannot access it. Downloads and purchase access remain on each device. Earshot was built with AI coding assistance. I am a blind developer who directed AI agents to help create the accessible podcast app I wanted to exist, then tested every build by hand with VoiceOver. Feedback from blind and low-vision beta testers shaped the app throughout development. What’s New

Version 1.1.0 Aug 20, 2026

Earshot 1.1 is a major update built around private iCloud sync, flexible library organization, and a smoother experience with large podcast collections. - Keep followed podcasts, folders, queue order, playback positions, played state, bookmarks, listening history, and shared settings synchronized through your private iCloud account. Downloads and purchase access remain on each device. - Organize podcasts and individual episodes in nested folders. Browse new episodes, downloads, listening statistics, and grouped queues by folder, use batch actions, preserve folder structure in OPML exports, and choose a folder while following a show. - Automatically download queued episodes, optionally delete downloads after they are played or deliberately removed from the queue, and clear all downloads in one step. - Continue at the newest playback position and speed when moving between devices, with durable offline changes and explicit rewind handling. - Import large OPML libraries while Earshot and VoiceOver remain responsive. Library upgrades, repeated launches, feed refresh, and iCloud reconciliation are faster and safer for large collections. - Find Now Playing controls more easily with VoiceOver Explore by Touch, switch episode order with one reversible Oldest/Newest control, refresh the Library on demand, and load older episodes in manageable pages. This update also reduces unnecessary work and heat during accelerated playback, improves Bluetooth playback-rate information, and includes many VoiceOver, sync, reset, queue, refresh, migration, and playback reliability fixes.
