About this app
The SMATCH mobile app is the user interface of the SMATCH software service, proposed by ENGIE to companies and buildings. The service allows for the steering of electric vehicles (EV) charging sequences, for buildings and industry sites with an EV charging infrastructure composed of several charging points (typically, but not mandatory, 5 or more). - SMATCH allows to limit the initial needs in electrical infrastructure of the site for charging the EVs, allowing substantial infrastructure cost reduction. - Alternatively, SMATCH allows to maximize the use of the charging points, thanks to an organized rotation of the cars. - SMATCH allows a continuous management of the combined expectations from the EV users (entered through the SMATCH mobile app), the building and fleet managers, in a transparent and automated way, by controlling the energy fluxes related to the charging sequences. This allows to limit the peak consumption, contrary to a classical charging solution, that could be stressed by a simultaneous charging of e.g. several cars arriving at the same time in the morning. - If the information is available, SMATCH also allows to maximize the use of local energy production (e.g. PV), and to take the global building consumption in consideration. - SMATCH helps with the phase equilibrium of the electrical installation, which is positive for the lifetime of e.g. the site transformers.
