The goal for this application is to create a symptom-based up-to-date text in the specialty and residents at an early point in their residency, and midlevel providers who are specializing in otolaryngology. Using a symptom-based format, the application significantly builds upon what is available as a basic text from the Academy, Primary Care Otolaryngology. ENT Essentials, available both in print and electronically, incorporates an interactive case-based app and utilizes this wherever appropriate. This application is divided into sections based upon regional anatomy; The Ear, The Face, The Nose, The Larynx, The Head and Neck, with an additional section on Sleep Medicine and Pediatric ENT. It has the most important feature for medical students, residents and primary care physicians. Symptom-based for easy access, important diagnostic steps, and differential diagnosis. Available in electronic tablet/smartphone format for easy bedside and clinical access. Multi-author format from leading academic otolaryngologists in each field, cooperating with residents and fellows to ensure that the most important information is included.
