About this app
You hear a track and you know it's electronic — but is it techno, acid, minimal or drum & bass? Genrely listens and tells you. JUST LISTEN Tap the button, point your phone at the source. Within about ten seconds Genrely names the style, its confidence and the measured tempo. SUB-GENRES, NOT JUST "ELECTRONIC" Electronic music is broken down properly: techno, minimal, acid, house, trance, psytrance, drum & bass, jungle, dubstep, breakbeat, hardcore, IDM, glitch, chiptune, downtempo, trip-hop, ambient, dark ambient, synthpop, industrial, darkwave. Rock, metal, jazz, hip-hop, folk, classical, soul, reggae and world music are covered with the same level of detail. AN APP THAT ADMITS UNCERTAINTY When Genrely is torn between three techno sub-genres, it says "Techno" instead of picking one at random. When the sound is too unclear, it says so. Every answer comes with its confidence and the runner-up candidates. TEMPO TOO BPM is measured on device and shown with the result. It also refines a few styles that tempo genuinely defines — and the app always tells you when a label came from tempo rather than from the model. EVERYTHING HAPPENS ON YOUR PHONE The model ships inside the app. No audio is ever uploaded. It works on a plane, in a basement, at a festival with no signal: recognition never needs a connection. REPLAY WHAT WAS CAPTURED Genrely keeps the first 15 seconds of each listen on your phone so you can play it back from the history. Those recordings stay on the device: never transmitted, never backed up to the cloud, and removed along with the app. The microphone picks up everything around you, conversations included — which is why the option turns off in one tap, deleting whatever was already saved. At most 50 excerpts are kept. NO ACCOUNT, NO ADS, NO PURCHASES Nothing to sign up for, nothing to pay, nothing to decline. YOUR HISTORY IS YOURS Detections stay on the device and clear with one tap. English and French. Light and dark themes.
