About this app
How deep can you get? Tap to swim up. Stop tapping and you sink. That is the whole of it — everything else down there is just the Trench. A one-thumb dive into a winding sea trench with no bottom. The rock narrows, the light goes, and the eels are not hostile so much as poorly timed. EIGHT WAYS DOWN Endless — the trench, forever. Free. Daily — one trench, the same for everyone, changing at midnight. Free. Hardcore — eels from the surface, and no shells to save you. One Breath — one tank of air, and it is going down. Blackout — a lantern, and whatever it reaches. Tide — the sea gets heavy, then lets go. Sprint — sixty seconds. Go deep. Zen — no eels, no clock, no reason to hurry. TEN SWIMMERS A dolphin, a turtle, a narwhal who points the way home whether you asked or not, a duck who should not be down here and is absolutely delighted to be, and six more. Every one of them swims exactly the same. Pick whoever you like the look of. SEVEN WATERS, FIVE SOUNDTRACKS From the Trench's cold blue to Neon's electric dark. Nothing is a recording — the music is built out of oscillators while you play, so it can answer the game. The pad lifts as your air runs out. Turn on Surprise Me and the game rolls a new swimmer, water and soundtrack every time you surface. A STORY, TOLD TEN WAYS Why you are down here is written out properly — and told a different way each time you read it. As a philosopher, as Shakespeare, as a sea shanty, as a ship's log. NO ADS. NO TIMERS. Endless and Daily are free forever. One optional purchase unlocks the other six dives, every swimmer, every water and every soundtrack, on every device you own. Anything added later is included. There is no advertising code in this app and there never will be. Mind the rocks.

What’s New
A first dive that explains itself, and swimming that feels like swimming. WHAT'S NEW • A walkthrough on your first run: the story, who you will meet down there, the eight dives, the seven waters and the five soundtracks. • Rebuilt swimming. A tap is a stroke, not a jump: you rise with buoyancy behind you and sink with real weight. • Tide now carries you instead of drowning you. The swell takes your weight, so you hang on it and can still swim up — it costs you depth rather than your life. • Every creature introduces itself the first time you meet it, once. No more finding out what an eel does by dying to one. • A bubble around you while a boost runs, because nothing can touch you for those three seconds — eels included. • Your lives stay on screen for the whole dive, so you always know how many mistakes you have left. • Share a dive as a picture: your depth, your swimmer, the water you were in, and a code that installs the game. FIXED • Losing a life no longer drops you back inside the rock you just hit. • Two boosts at once no longer fire you into the ceiling. • The trench keeps clear of the depth readout instead of drawing over it. • The game remembers the dive you were last on.
