About this app
Go back in time with a real or virtual journey along the former Green Line and experience what happened there during the Lebanese civil war through the stories of ex-combatants. The former Green Line was the demarcation line that separated Beirut and where fighting took place and many people died. The app will give you the opportunity to combine a nice walk in Beirut with learning about a previous part of Lebanese history, although this was a dark period. The app displays a map with routes to choose from. You can use it both online or offline while walking or surf on the map while at home. Fighters for Peace, an NGO formed by Lebanese ex-combatants who turned into peace builders created this app with the attempt to let the new generation experience this particular part of history through the eyes of ex-fighters from different parties, hoping that war will never be repeated.
