About this app
The conversation your teen has tomorrow can be their second try. Hangar is autism-affirming voice rehearsal for autistic and neurodivergent teens 13–17. Choose one of 50 real-life moments, practise it out loud or by typing, and walk in with a first line, an exit line, and one less unknown. PRACTISE THE MOMENT THAT IS ACTUALLY NEXT Ask a teacher for a sensory break. Join a lunch table. Handle teasing. Repair a group chat. Start a first shift. Say no. Use a self-checkout or phone menu. Rehearse a fictional appointment, work, billing, school, or voicemail call without placing a real call or changing anything outside the app. PREPARE THE MOMENT THAT IS COMING Tomorrow's Moment takes two private notes — the upcoming situation and the line your teen wants ready — and matches them on-device to the closest existing authored rehearsal. It never invents a scene from those notes, and the notes do not become a model prompt, character instruction, or flight transcript. CHOOSE HOW DEEP TO GO • Warm-Up Bay keeps the full script visible. • Solo Flight replaces the script with cue cards. • Cross-Country lets your teen go off-script when they are ready. Voice and typing count exactly the same. Captions arrive before voice playback. Pause, switch to typing, or leave at any point. AUTISM-AFFIRMING BY ARCHITECTURE Hangar never scores eye contact, tone of voice, pauses or stimming. It can name when the other character misread your teen. Goals belong to the teen, and leaving early is always a valid landing. There are no streaks, shame mechanics, or open-ended AI companions. PRIVATE PRACTICE Speech becomes text on the iPhone or iPad. Audio stays only in memory while on-device transcription finishes; it is never uploaded or saved. During a live flight, the practice goal, current and prior turn text, and authored scenario state pass through our AWS relay to OpenAI to script the character reply. This is disclosed before consent. Typing works without microphone permission. There is no account, advertising, or cross-app tracking. A random install identifier accompanies live turns for a short-lived service limit. Goals, flights, the logbook, and saved Tomorrow's Moment plans stay on the device. START FREE The free plan includes three flights every week across all 50 scenarios, every depth each scenario offers, every calm-and-safety tool, and on-device Tomorrow's Moment matching. Hangar Premium adds daily practice, saving and reusing Tomorrow's Moment plans, and a private preparation summary that your teen explicitly controls. The App Store shows each storefront's current price and offer eligibility before purchase. In the US, monthly is $9.99 with no trial and yearly is $79.99; eligible new yearly subscribers can try 14 days free. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled in Apple Account Settings. Hangar is a general-wellness practice tool. It is not therapy, a medical device, or a substitute for professional advice, diagnosis, treatment or care. What’s New
Replies now appear as moderated captions before voice playback, with quicker on-device speech fallback and stronger handling of cancellation, interruptions, and audio-route changes. Hangar also adds nine fictional phone-call rehearsals across appointments, work, billing, school, and voicemail. The library now contains 50 authored moments, all available on the free plan. This update retains the stronger contrast, Dynamic Type, and VoiceOver improvements prepared for version 1.2.
