About this app
When the heat climbs on a worksite, every crew needs the same clear answer: is it hot enough for an extra break right now? Heat Index gives you that answer in real time — straight from a sensor on your own site. Heat Index is the companion app for a connected worksite heat sensor. A small on-site device (a Raspberry Pi with a temperature and humidity sensor) reads conditions every hour, calculates the true "feels-like" heat index, and sends it securely to your team. Open the app — or just glance at the Home Screen widget — to see the current reading and whether today's extra heat break has been authorized. It's built for the people responsible for crews in the heat: warehouse and packing-floor supervisors, operations and EHS managers, commercial kitchens, and any jobsite where temperature drives safety decisions. WHAT YOU GET • Live now — the current heat index in big, glanceable numbers, with temperature and humidity. Green means an extra break is on; blue means conditions are below the threshold. • Home Screen widget — small, medium, and large sizes show the latest reading without opening the app. • 12-month history — daily peaks roll up into a clean monthly chart so you can see the whole season at a glance. • Sensor health — keep an eye on the Raspberry Pi's own temperature so your data never quietly drops out. • Controlled team access — each member joins your organization with a code, and an administrator approves who gets in. Your readings stay inside your organization. HOW IT WORKS Heat Index pairs with a connected sensor reporting from your site. You'll need an organization code from your administrator to join, and a sensor reporting data for your location. Once you're approved, the app opens straight to your live reading. SIGN IN Create an account with email and password, or use Sign in with Apple. You can delete your account and all of its data from inside the app at any time. PRIVACY We collect only what's needed to sign you in and connect you to your organization — your email, name, and account identifier. No ads. No tracking. No third-party analytics. Heat Index turns one sensor into one shared answer for the whole crew — so the call to take a break is based on real conditions, not guesswork.
