About this app
Idyll Caregiver is how you fill a parent's day from three states away. Their iPad becomes one calm screen: the faces of the people who call them, the day ahead, photographs from you, their books and their music, and a companion who talks with them. Every part of it is chosen by you, from your phone — and they never have to learn anything, download anything, or search for anything. YOU CURATE ALL OF IT • The photographs — and the story behind each one, held down on the microphone and told in your own voice. The companion tells her that story when the picture comes up. • The music — albums you build from audio files you already own. • The audiobooks — the books she'd actually like, waiting on her shelf. • The day — say "evening pills at six, every day" out loud and it's set. She hears a gentle reminder fifteen minutes before, and again when it's time. • The companion herself — her name, her voice, what she knows about your mother, and the subjects she leaves alone. Nothing arrives from a stranger. Nothing is chosen by an algorithm. Her screen fills up with the people who love her, because you put them there. KNOW SHE'S ALRIGHT After each conversation with the companion you get one short, plain-language note — how she seemed, a highlight or two, and anything worth knowing. A banner tells you whether her tablet is online, and whether she's talking with Idyll right now. It is reassurance, not surveillance: no cameras, no room monitoring, no listening in. BE THERE IN SECONDS Video call her — she taps your face to answer. For a parent who can't always reach the screen in time, you can let chosen people connect without a tap. You can also step into a live conversation between your parent and the companion and speak as yourself. IF SHE NEEDS HELP Her tablet has one red Help button. It rings your phone like a real call and walks down the escalation list you set until somebody answers. Whoever answers stands everyone else down. THE COMPANION Idyll is an AI companion who talks with your parent, learns what matters to them, and can bring a photograph or an album into the conversation. She is clearly identified as artificial intelligence throughout, she gives no medical advice, and you can see and delete anything she has learned. SHARE THE CARE Invite brothers, sisters, grandchildren — free, with no limit. Primary caregivers manage everything; members can call, chat, send photographs and teach the companion: the caring parts, without running the household. SUBSCRIPTION Idyll iPad Plan is $24.99/month per tablet, purchased on the iPad itself, and it unlocks setting up and managing that tablet. Calling, messaging and photographs are always free — and her tablet is never locked by a billing problem. Cancel anytime in Settings. What’s New
SIMPLE MODE — turn on a calmer home screen for your parent. If the usual home is too busy, Simple Mode replaces it with six large tiles and the day's plan always on screen. No photograph behind the text, nothing that moves or appears on its own. Everything still works exactly as it did — it is a theme, not a different app. You will find it during setup, and any time afterwards under Manage. You choose which tiles appear; Help is always there. ALSO IN THIS RELEASE • Editing an activity now lets you change the day it falls on. • An activity added on a future day lands on that day. • If the microphone was refused, the app now says which device is off and takes you to the right setting. • Fixed a rare crash that could happen while an update was being installed.
