Double-entry bookkeeping for your small business, running entirely on your own device. NorthLedger is built for U.S. small businesses, freelancers and the self-employed who want real books rather than a spreadsheet — and who would rather not hand their ledger to someone else's server. EVERYTHING STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE There is no account to create, no sign-in, and no cloud service behind this app. Your ledger lives in a local database on your iPhone and iPad. NorthLedger makes no network requests at all: no analytics, no advertising, no cross-app tracking. Data leaves only when you deliberately export or share it. REAL DOUBLE-ENTRY, NOT A CATEGORISED LIST A professional chart of accounts, balanced posting, and reversing entries. Every posted journal entry must balance to the cent. Money is stored and calculated with decimal arithmetic, never binary floating point, so your totals do not drift. TRANSACTIONS AND JOURNAL ENTRIES Income, expenses and payments, with drafts you can finish later, full-text search, and posting you control. Drafts never affect posted report balances. INVOICES AND RECEIVABLES Itemised invoices with sales tax, due dates, PDF generation, recorded payments and open balances. EXPENSES AND PAYABLES Vendor bills, vendor payments, linked journal entries and complete history. RECURRING ENTRIES Reusable schedules that post balanced entries on the cadence you set. THE REPORTS THAT MATTER Profit and loss, balance sheet, trial balance, cash flow, sales tax, receivables aging and payables aging — all derived from your own ledger. TAX RATES AND CONTACTS Reusable tax rates with informational sales-tax summaries. Customer and vendor records with addresses, payment terms and document details. YOUR DATA, EXPORTABLE Audit-friendly CSV export plus full JSON backup and restore, with stable identifiers so exported records can be re-associated deterministically. BUILT FOR IPHONE AND IPAD Dynamic Type, VoiceOver labels, light and dark appearance, and layouts that adapt from compact to regular. Available in English and Spanish. HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT IS NOT NorthLedger is bookkeeping software — not a CPA, tax preparer, attorney, payroll processor, bank or filing service. Its totals and reports are informational workpapers, not tax returns, legal opinions or audit assurances. It does not connect to your bank, does not e-file, and does not decide what is taxable or which rate applies. You remain responsible for your source documents, classifications and filing obligations, and for review by a qualified professional. Bookkeeping data stays on your device, so please export a backup periodically and keep your source documents elsewhere too. SUBSCRIPTION NorthLedger is a subscription app — an active subscription is required to use it. • NorthLedger Pro Monthly: US$9.99 per month, billed monthly.
