About this app

Light illuminates, shadow defines. Notan Live! is a visualization tool for artists. Functioning similarly to the threshold adjustment layer in Photoshop, it is an aid to composition by allowing the artist to compose with shadows only. With this tool, light and dark can be arranged in visual space. In NOTAN view the single slider allows the user to choose a pixel luminosity value of 0-255, in real time, with values at or below the threshold being displayed as black (shadow) - values above the threshold are displayed as white (light). The artist can frame live view in Color, NOTAN, and B/W modes. Images may be saved in any mode. The tool can access the camera roll with the icon at the bottom left of the screen, and returns to live view with the camera icon at the bottom right of the screen.
