About this app
OptiCut is a fast, offline sheet-cut optimizer for anyone who cuts panels down to size — cabinetmakers, signmakers, flooring and glass installers, metal and plywood workers, and DIYers. Enter the sheet you're cutting from and the pieces you need, and OptiCut lays out the most efficient cutting plan — packing your cuts onto as few sheets as possible and showing you exactly how much material you'll use and how much is offcut. WHAT IT DOES • Optimal layout — a proven bin-packing engine arranges your pieces to use the fewest full sheets, then shows the leftover as offcut/waste. • See the plan — a clear, to-scale diagram of every sheet with each cut labelled. • Know before you buy — “sheets needed”, full sheets to buy, and % material used. CUT TYPES • Strips — full-height bands; just set the width. • Rectangles & squares — any width × height. • L-shapes — set the bounding size and a corner notch, left or right. BUILT FOR REAL WORKSHOPS • Grain / pattern matching — lock orientation so every cut runs with the grain. • Saw kerf — account for the blade gap so your parts actually fit. • Any units — inches, feet, millimetres, centimetres or metres. • Fractions welcome — type 3/4 or mixed numbers like 2 3/8. • Sheet presets (Melamine 4×8 ft, Vinyl) or a fully custom sheet size. PRIVATE BY DESIGN OptiCut works completely offline. It has no account, no ads, no trackers, and collects no data — every calculation happens on your device. Measure twice, cut once.
