About this app

QuietTrace is a private sound journal for the moments you want to remember without recording audio. Turn listening on once and QuietTrace keeps listening — visibly, and entirely on your device — saving a simple, timestamped journal of what happened. Not an audio file. YOUR SOUNDS, KEPT PRIVATE • On-device sound classification • No audio recordings are kept, ever • No account and no subscription • Five ways to stop, always in reach: Settings, the Live Activity, Control Centre in iOS, the journal itself, and your Apple Watch ALWAYS ON, NEVER INVISIBLE You decide once. QuietTrace listens in the foreground, in the background, and on the Lock Screen, and re-arms every time you open it — until you turn it off. The system microphone indicator and a Live Activity stay on screen the whole time, so listening is impossible to miss. A JOURNAL, NOT A METER See a readable history of sound events with their time and day, one day at a time or across the whole archive. QuietTrace is made for people who want to understand a soundscape at home, while travelling, around pets, during quiet hours, or on a walk — without turning their microphone into a recorder. ON YOUR WRIST The Apple Watch companion shows what your iPhone is hearing, and can pause or stop listening from your wrist. Sound names and times only — never audio. FREE FOREVER Always-on listening, live sound classification, the complete local journal, and the Apple Watch companion, at no cost. The journal is complete without a purchase. LIFETIME ACCESS One optional purchase unlocks archive search and filtering, CSV journal export, and iCloud sync so your journal travels between your own devices through your own private database. Sound names and times only — there is no audio to sync, because none is ever kept. One-time purchase. No subscription. No recurring fee. QuietTrace is not a calibrated decibel meter, a safety tool, or an audio recorder.
