About this app
Meet Rosemary & Thyme, your new private kitchen assistant. Running entirely on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, this intelligent recipe app lets you seamlessly discover new meals, organize your favorites, and get real-time cooking help from an on-device AI—no cloud necessary. Intelligent Kitchen Assistant Chat with a personalized, on-device AI assistant that understands cooking. Unsure what to make for dinner? The assistant can suggest meal plans based on your saved recipes or dietary preferences. Need to convert measurements or look up cooking tips? Just ask. The AI acts as your sous-chef, equipped with powerful tools to search your recipes, fetch details, and answer culinary questions naturally. Lightning-Fast Discoverability Find exactly what you are craving in milliseconds. Rosemary & Thyme utilizes an advanced on-device semantic vector database. You don't have to search by exact titles—search by ingredients, mood, or concepts (like “something warm for a rainy day” or “quick dairy-free snacks”), and the app will understand your intent and return the perfect results. Offline and Private Your kitchen is your sanctuary. Rosemary & Thyme runs its AI inference and semantic search entirely on your device’s processor via Apple’s Core ML and Foundation Models. That means zero latency, true privacy, and seamless offline functionality. No account required, no subscription hidden fees, and absolutely no telemetry uploading your data to the cloud. Multilingual Support Designed for a diverse kitchen, the app is fully localized in both English and Spanish, including fully translated recipe databases and intelligent conversational capabilities to suit your preferred language perfectly. Save from the Web Found a great recipe online? Just share the link. Our intelligent web parser will extract the ingredients and instructions, strip out the clutter, and beautifully save it right to your personal collection. Who it’s for If you love cooking but hate navigating bloated websites or handing your data over to cloud services, this app is for you. Rosemary & Thyme combines a beautiful, distraction-free SwiftUI design with cutting-edge, privacy-first Apple Intelligence. Accessibility Rosemary & Thyme is built to be usable by everyone. Every button, toggle, and interactive control carries a clear VoiceOver label and hint so you always know what it does and what will happen when you tap it. Dynamic content—loading spinners, search results, the AI assistant's thinking state—announces itself clearly. Section headers are tagged for quick VoiceOver navigation. The entire app respects the Reduce Motion setting: all animations gracefully fall back to instant transitions so the experience remains comfortable. Recipe cards, filter bars, tag layouts, and chat messages use grouped accessibility elements and logical sort priorities to ensure a natural reading order. Whether you use VoiceOver, Switch Control, or Voice Control, Rosemary & Thyme has you covered.
Latest release
What’s New
Rosemary & Thyme 1.1.1 is a quality-and-reliability update focused on importing recipes from the web — including news articles and blogs — more accurately in both English and Spanish. What's New & Improved: - Smarter Recipe Import: Recipes embedded in news articles and blog posts — where there's no structured recipe data, just prose — now import correctly, separating ingredients from steps. When a page is hard to read, the app uses on-device Apple Intelligence to pull out the recipe. Everything happens on your device; no page content is sent anywhere. - Bilingual Parsing: Import understands English and Spanish recipe layouts (Ingredients/Ingredientes, Instructions/Preparación, Servings/Porciones, and more), so Spanish-language recipe pages import as cleanly as English ones. - More Reliable Importing: Pages on older or non-UTF-8 websites — common on some Spanish-language sites — now load and display with correct accents instead of failing. Some sites that previously refused the app's requests now load successfully. - Stability: A corrupted on-device search index no longer causes problems — the app falls back to keyword search and keeps working. Web search is more robust, with request timeouts and cleaner, de-duplicated results.
