About this app
trilg is an art generator app by the artist Tobias Rehberger. With trilg by Tobias Rehberger you can now easily create your own personal artwork. The letters, which are based on a typographic interpretation of the Latin alphabet developed by Tobias Rehberger, are derived from the intersecting lines of the colour fields and outer contours. The graphic design of the individual letters does not always follow their actual form and abstracts the otherwise easily readable alphabet to varying degrees. At first, the images appear abstract and geometric; however, they follow a systematic concept that makes it possible to decipher the individual letters. By combining the letters into words and acronyms, Tobias Rehberger addresses—almost in the literal sense—the legibility of art. And with trilg, you can now do exactly the same. About the artist: Tobias Rehberger, born in 1966 in Esslingen, Germany, lives and works in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin. From 1987 to 1992, he studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main under Thomas Bayerle and Martin Kippenberger, where he has also taught since 2001. Rehberger has exhibited internationally in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including at the Venice Biennale (1997, 2003, and 2009), the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam (2008), the Museum Ludwig in Cologne (2008), the Whitechapel Gallery in London (2004), and the Rockbund Art Museum in Shanghai (2019). For his installation at the Venice Biennale, he was awarded the Golden Lion in 2009. Rehberger’s work spans various media, including installation, sculpture, painting, and architecture, and often explores themes such as perception, space, and social dynamics.
