Twicon is a new kind of neighborhood communication app that lets you exchange icons, messages, and even your favorite music, books, and restaurants—just by passing by someone. ■ Just pass by. The rest is automatic. Simply keep the app running, and it automatically detects nearby Twicon users. The icon, short message, and image you've set—along with the music, book, or restaurant you're currently into—are quietly exchanged. No need to strike up a conversation or show each other a QR code. The profile of anyone you pass by is delivered to your "Received list." ◎ Create your own icon Set any image as your icon. Add a short message and an image for exchange to share a bit of who you are. ◎ Share music, books, and restaurants Pick the song you're listening to, a book you recommend, or a favorite spot and attach it to your profile. The people you pass by get a sense of what you love—received songs can be previewed on the spot, and books and restaurants link straight to their respective services. ◎ Pass-by notifications Get notified whenever a new pass-by is made. You won't miss a single one, even when the app isn't open. ◎ Pass-by record See a running total of how many people you've passed by. People you've received stay on your list for a set period of time. ■ Tips for matching How easily a pass-by is made depends on the app's state. ・Foreground (app open): easiest to match ・Background (using another app or screen locked): easy to match ・Task-killed (app fully closed): harder to match ■ Designed for privacy and peace of mind ・We intentionally add a random time delay between when a pass-by happens and when the exchange or notification arrives. This makes it harder to pinpoint "that person I just passed is the one," protecting your privacy. ・Sign-in is via Sign in with Apple only. No tedious registration or phone number required. ・Only the icon, message, image, music, book, and restaurant you set yourself are exchanged. Your location itself is never sent to the other person. ・Location is used solely to detect pass-bys in the background. ■ About the use of Bluetooth and Location Twicon uses Bluetooth and Location (Always Allow) to detect pass-bys even while the app is closed or in the background. This setting is required for the app's core function to work. Location is used only as a trigger for pass-by detection and is never shared with or sold to outside parties. ■ Pricing Twicon is free to use at its core. Ads are shown within the app, but by subscribing to the monthly "Ad-Free Plan" (600 yen/month, auto-renewing), you can use it in a comfortable, ad-free environment.
