About this app

Capture important photos privately and create cryptographic proof that can be verified later. Veridenz is free to download, and verification is free for everyone. Anyone can use Veridenz to check whether a photo matches its witness, whether the cryptographic signature is valid, and whether the witness record exists on Nostr. Creating new captures, generating signed witnesses, and publishing witness records requires the Veridenz Lifetime Unlock, available as a one-time in-app purchase. There is no subscription. Veridenz keeps captured photos privately inside the app rather than automatically adding them to your Apple Photos library. Optional iCloud Sync can securely synchronize your Veridenz photos and witnesses across your Apple devices while keeping them separate from Apple Photos. Veridenz can be useful for documenting: • Property damage • Deliveries • Repairs • Inspections • Receipts • Documents • Work records • Items being bought or sold • Other important evidence and documentation Each capture creates a cryptographically signed witness tied to the exact original image file. The witness record can then be published to the decentralized Nostr network. The original photo itself is not published to Nostr. Verification can confirm that: • The selected image matches the originally witnessed file • The cryptographic signature is valid • The witness record exists on Nostr Your photos remain managed privately by Veridenz. If you enable iCloud Sync, they can also synchronize through Veridenz’s private iCloud storage to your other Apple devices. You can explicitly export or share files when you choose. Veridenz does not require an account or subscription. A signing identity is created and managed by the app and protected using Apple Keychain. For additional privacy, you can optionally protect your saved Witnesses library with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode without adding authentication to the camera or capture process. IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS Veridenz can demonstrate that a specific file matches a cryptographically signed witness created at a particular time and can verify the associated Nostr record when available. Veridenz cannot prove that the scene shown in a photograph was real or unstaged, establish that everything depicted is truthful, or guarantee that a photo or witness will be accepted as evidence by a court, insurer, employer, marketplace, or other organization.

Veridenz 1.2.1 focuses on reliability, with fixes for signing identity continuity and witness creation on Mac. It also resolves a crash that could occur when saving a witness and includes additional stability improvements.

Momentum comes from crawler snapshots for the tracked storefront. “Viral growth signal” means unusually fast recent rating gains; it is an indicator, not download data.
