Yap: Speak a New Language

About this app

Speak a new language in 30 seconds a day. Yap is a daily voice conversation with a friendly AI tutor. No flashcards, no tapping bubbles — you actually TALK, from day one. One short chat a day is enough to build the habit that makes a language stick. MEET YOUR TUTORS Ten tutors with their own names, faces and personalities — warm Maria, calm Erik, smooth Leo. A different one greets you every day, and they remember to keep it fun: they tease, react and cheer you on like a real conversation partner. REAL SCENES, REAL TALKING Order coffee in Paris. Check into a hotel. Talk your way out of a parking ticket. Choose from 80+ role-play scenes — or let Yap invent brand-new ones just for you. Every chat starts with a quick briefing so you know your mission, plus a bonus word to sneak in for extra points. STUCK? YOU'RE COVERED Suggested replies update live as the conversation flows, so you always have something to say. Tap any word in the chat to translate it instantly — or drag across a whole phrase. Save words to practise later as flashcards. YOUR COACH TAKES NOTES After every yap you get personal notes: what you nailed, what to fix (quoting your exact words), and whether you managed to sneak in the bonus word. MATCHED TO YOUR LEVEL From absolute beginner to near-native (A1–C2), Yap adapts everything: how fast tutors speak, which words they use, and how much help you get. Beginners get slow, simple, patient conversations with English lifelines. BUILD A STREAK WORTH BRAGGING ABOUT A daily flame, a calendar of your progress, and widgets for your Home Screen and Lock Screen so the streak is always in sight. 15 LANGUAGES Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, Turkish, Dutch, Swedish, Danish and English. YAP PRO Your first day is free — try a full conversation, no strings. Yap your way! This update gives you more control over your daily practice: • Choose your daily yap length — 15, 30, 45 or 60 seconds, with a recommended length for your level • Learning English? Tell Yap your own language, and the slide-to-rescue works in it: slide right mid-sentence and say the word — or the whole sentence — in your language. Yap shows you how to say it, and what you actually said • A livelier home screen, with a glowing halo that builds as you talk • Smarter reminders that know when you've already yapped today • Your streak now counts the same way everywhere — home, profile and widget • Smoother push-to-talk: captions follow the tutor's voice, the slide gesture is easier to hit, and interrupted turns are handled cleanly • Lots of polish across conversations, transcripts and history

Momentum comes from crawler snapshots for the tracked storefront. “Viral growth signal” means unusually fast recent rating gains; it is an indicator, not download data.
